-I never really thought I'd be starting a post talking about Women's College Basketball, but here we are. The University of Connecticut's women's team completed an undefeated season last night with a 22 point thrashing of Louisville. The Huskies improved their record to 39-0 for the year, and won every game by double digits. What a dominating year. Congrats to UConn.

-Sticking with college hoops, Oklahoma forward Blake Griffin has declared himself eligible for the upcoming NBA draft. The reigning college basketball player of the year is projected to be the number 1 overall pick in this June's draft. Talk about a no-brainer.

Entertainment
-Kumar is going to the White House! Actor Kal Penn has been named to the Office of Public Liaison for President Obama's administration. The actor played Kumar Patell in the Harold and Kumar movies, as well as a doctor on the Fox TV show, House, will not be retiring from acting, but will take a break as he works in Washington for the immediate future. Much to my dismay this all but eliminates any hope we had for Harold and Kumar 3. At least we found out that smoking with George W. could lead to a future in our nation's capital.

-Guess who's back? Back again, Shady's back... Rapper Eminem is back with a new video. The video for the first single off his new album "Relapse" has the rapper firing away at celebrities all across the board. Reminicessent of older videos from Eminem, this one takes some low blows at some high ranking celebs. Enjoy.

-In a field that was once considered to be "recession proof", it seems that tech jobs are forecast to decline by 1.2% this year. With the economy taking its toll, many companies are being forced to reduce the number of jobs they have in their tech departments. According to the report that I have linked above however, tech jobs could bounce back in 2010.

-Life Insurers may be next in line to receive bailout funds. There is a lot of information in this article, that goes way over my head, so I'll just let you click on the link above and let's just go from there.

Tuesday's Tidbits

-It appears that John Calipari is close to finalizing a deal with the University of Kentucky to become their new head basketball coach. The Wildcats fired Billy Giliispie last week after missing the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1991. The deal for the current Memphis head coach could be finalized as early as today.

-Tyler Hansbrough, and Blake Griffin were named to the AP's All American Team. Griffin received 71 first team votes to lead the country. Hansbrough was the first UNC player to be named to the All-American team in back to back years since some guy named Jordan did it in 83 and 84. Man I hate Hansbrough. Have fun sitting on the bench in the Association.

-We named Robert Powell as our Moron of the Week last Friday. Today Texans' running back, Ryan Moats, accepted Powell's apology for delaying Moats and his family while his mother-in-law was dying of breast cancer. The Moats family has shown nothing but class in this situation, they released a statement today accepting the apology as well as saying thanks for all of the sympathy that has been pouring in from around the nation.

-Did you know that Jack Bauer has a twin sister? How about goddess Scarlett Johansson having a twin brother? Ashton Kutcher? Yep, he does too. I had no idea that so many celebs were twins until I read this story. Too bad Scarlett doesn't have a twin sister. Mmmmmm, two Scarlett's!

-Apparently Twitter is taking over Hollywood. With all the recent stories of athletes "tweeting" from the locker room at halftime, it seems only fitting that actors, producers, and directors would start doing the same from their sets. I don't know why, but I've never even look at Twitter. Maybe I will just type shorter posts every morning. I know I could fit all of the links that get sent in to the site in a 140 character message.

-The company that owns the Chicago Sun-Times has filed for bankruptcy. Over 120 newspapers in the country have shut down since January of 2008. Not a good sign for aspiring writers out there.

-Get ready for some extra money in your next pay check. President Obama's stimulus package will start to benefit you by the time your next paycheck rolls in. You can expect an additional $15-$30 on each pay check thanks to the tax credits that you will be receiving for being employed. It may not sound like a lot, but that's a free tank of gas each month!

Tuesday Tidbits

-Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk. I don't know, I heard that somewhere. KU last night, pulled off an upset over number 3, Oklahoma in Norman. The Sooners were playing without Blake Griffin, and couldn't overcome Tyshawn Taylor's career high 26 points. This is a nice victory for Kansas, especially playing it on the road but you have to think that with Griffin not playing the win can't be as satisfying for the fans in Lawrence. By the way, I know WAY too many Jayhawk fans. I live in Utah for hell's sake.

-We all know that Tiger Woods will be returning at the Accenture Match Play Championships this week in Arizona. In this article Darren Rovell from CNBC.com we learn that Tiger will have a new sponsor on his golf bag for the season.

-Devin Harris made the shot of the year last night in East Rutherford to lead the Nets to a 98-96 win over the 76ers. I have always loved the last second shot in basketball, but this might be one of the best ever. For those that are wondering he did not travel. AI (part 2) knocked the ball loose, Harris recovered and shot-put in the winning basket. Unreal.

-Charles Barkley will serve 5 days in jail in Arizona's infamous Tent City,after pleading guilty to charges of drunken driving. After watching Barkley's apology last Thursday night on TNT, I couldn't help but appreciate his honesty, and I truly do believe he feels bad for what he did. I wonder how The Round Mound of Rebound will look in pink underwear.

-Jon Heyman gives us an update on all of the big name free-agents still left in Major League Baseball. Manny is going to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 26-30 million per season. It's just a matter of whether or not he and Scott Boras are willing to accept a deal for 2 years as opposed to the original 6 that they asked for.

-24 was solid last night. This season has been so much better than season 6. By the way, next Monday I turn 24. Is it any coincidence that there will be a special 2-hour showing of 24 on the same day? I think not.
